Smile New Gal on the Block

    Hi Boys,

Hope you don't mind me joining you in your playground. I came across simmerspaintshop a few days ago and as a lady very into aeroplanes I thought I'd give it a go. I've read alot of your posts and have gathered alot of very valuable tips from them. I've worked with photoshop before but only for photo editing not for drawing with from scratch. Here's my 1st project after a bit of trial and error.

If you think I will fit into this predominantly male environment I'd be happy to show my progress on this project.

Here's a jgp of my work so far. Please feel free to air your views, but please go easy on me.

I'm sure you boys will know exactly what it is..... or is going to be

Bit early for me but it does look like a B-29. It also looks like the way I do a profile, except I would have the humps and bumps as different layers. That way I can remove them as required. Also, I gather from the angle this will be sitting on its gear. And what size (I work in pixels)?

Re: New Gal on the Block

    It’s either a B29 Superfortress, a Washington, or a Tupolev copy.
Which ever it is, it amounts to the same thing.

Too early for criticism at this stage, but I would agree with anadc4 on the angle you have drawn it at, it does look like it will have the gear down?
    Are you using layers?

If you are going to do the gear up, now is the time to change the angle I would say, before you get too involved with detail.

By the way, welcome to simmers, it’s a great place for the budding profile artist and I am sure you will fit in well, judging from your choice of subject matter.

This is the one I did in 2005, very early beginnings of my profiling (if at all beginnings haha)
If you wanna make the same plane, I have excellent photos for this one

Welcome Early-Bird, always good to have people from the fairer *** around Good choice for a first profile! Its largely tube shape so it's a good one to start with and still get nice results
