    Black Chopper

Okay, simply changing the body colour isn't enough... I'll have to do a bit more work. I would have been surprised (overjoyed) if it was that simple.
I'll go through layer by layer and put some proper glossy highlights and reflections in. I've pulled an old airbrushing automobiles book off the shelf and it has some good examples of gloss work.Watch this space!

    Re: Black Chopper

I think I am heading in the right direction now. Anyone out there with gloss aircraft experience? I could use a few pointers. I'm thinking I need a lot more little reflections to build up details and shapes and to knock back the hard highlights and thin them down a bit.
GFR, I have it first hand that the bird is actually a very very deep metallic blue. It only shows up under particular lighting. So I have given it just a hint of cyan in the black. I do know that Agusta favour pearl and metallic paints. Mind you, I have trouble seeing the blue in any of the reference photos I have!

Hi Grubby, you've done a nice job on the gloss effect. I wasn't too sure at first view? But on the blow up the nose, motor and roof section are spot on but the rotor fin doesn't look right can't put my finger on what it is thou.

I have refined some of the highlights, added the rotor reflection and added a few fresh reflections and highlights and I think that will do!
