hello all, I am a new member. I found this forum through Google

I actually attempted to model the P-38 over a year ago, but it did not come out very good. I am however making a second attempt now.

I was wondering if you would be able to share your reference pictures, and if perhaps you had any advice for me?

I would be willing to share my model & texture files when I am done, but I have the feeling it will not be nearly as good as yours

there is plenty of walkaroounds for P-38...and any of them would be more or less good reference. Good luckand here some of our 15usaaf machines

wow, that's rather impressive.

tell me, how did you go about modeling the exhausts(?), the shapes that run along the boom right behind the supercharger? do you have any advice for modeling detail shapes like the supercharger itself or the browning machineguns in the nose?

just selected the panels and played with PS ...shading, bluring...nothing extra...
check few discussions in this forum and you will get some ideas

BTW I have tablet pen for small details, I think it is better than mouse...my opinion.

You draw .50 cal. machine guns with holes 0.75 inch diameter spaced 2 5/32" on a jacket 1.875" diameter to whatever scale you are working...
