I hate to sound critical, but there's 2 things that are really bugging me about the drop tank.
First, the bottom edge seems to creep up towards the back. The center section should be a straight cylinder.
Second, the fuel lines appear to be entering the wing well outboard of the pylon. The connectors are actually directly ahead of the pylon.
Really nice shine effect on the top of the canopy, by the way!

Hi GFR!
There are really many profiles artists around the globe, but I think nobody ever did such an excellent job. Your P-51 is a stunning piece of artwork. It's really sorry if this great profiles get printed in a book all the fine details will get lost. I have stopped such detail work, but it's great that there are folks out there that do this crazy detail work. Please don't stop your way. Your profiles are a great inspiration. In post #69 your canopy glass has an amazing effect. Why not added in the final profiles?
BTW: Are there any books with your artwork?
Best regards,
Simon
It's so beautiful I'm sobbing uncontrollably and I' am suffering from hysterical blindness because I know any mustang profile from now on will always be a bitter disappointment. It really is world class.
Hey Simon
Nah...I do these purely for my own amusement, and for the fact that I find it considerably easier to do than build scale models, now that is a skill!
Thanks for the Kind words.
Here's what will (for the time being) be the last in this series of Mustang profiles, as I want to move onto my other stalled projects.(C/D Mustang, P-47 Thunderbolt, B-24, MK XVI Spitfire, Typhoon, P-38 Lightning, Dora, F-4E Phantom, King Tiger and PT Boat.)
And if anybody has a clear image of the crew names at the front of the windscreen, I would love to see it, as the images that I have aren't conclusive.

It's (obviously) the restored version of HJGB, but considering the painstaking attention to detail on this warbird, I'd say it has a good chance of being accurate!
You'll also want to add Ilfrey's signature double rearview mirror arrangement. One is from a Spitfire and the other from a P-38.
More reference - note the white undersprayed "I" and the shade of green is darker than what you chose. I really like how yours looks, but comparing it to the blue on the US insigna shows it should be a bit darker on this particular plane.
Overall, your version of this plane puts mine to shame!
Wow I can't wait for the others!!
Thanks for these excellent images, esp the 3rd which I haven't seen before.
Its interesting that the image doesn't seem to have the fuselage invasion stripes tho.
As for the shade of green, I must admit that I guessed what the actual shade was, you can never be sure of the accuracy of a colour image taken 60+ years ago.
Check out the colour of the green on middle image, around the wing root, I suspect this is what the restorers may have used as a reference for their shade of green.
I'm not at all happy with the under wing invasion stripes, so I guess I was a little premature with my pronouncement that this profile was done.
