    Re: Our first profile

i still think the shade cast by the wing should fade on the intake. Only should the gradient not start higher that the intake begins to curve.

Sorry I'm not quite sure what you mean by that.

Anyway thanks for your comments, I will slowly be dealing with them 1 by 1. I have some GCSE mocks next week so I dunno how much I'll do but anyway think of it like this: from this point onwards work will go more slowly that the beginning spurt of speed since the start was easy and basic.

Also I'd like to say those sidewinders look very good vacujan Do you have any blueprints or something that I can make a sidewinder based upon or anyone else for that matter?

If you have a good blueprint or some assistance material for these missiles or ordinance it would be good:

    AIM-7F Sparrow
    AIM-120C AMRAAM
    AIM-9M/X Sidewinder
Any type of droptanks it carried

    Thanks for your help guys.

    Re: Our first profile

After reading my previous comment, I really canīt say that i blame you for not understanding

I have tried to explain by making a simle drawing, and I hope this will help to get my point across.

two illustrations on the left is cross-sectionsof a fuselage and a wing (very simplified). The two illustrations on the right is the same part of thse fuselage and wing, only seen in profile.

The two illustrations at the top shows a aircraft with a fuselage shape that resembels the F-15s. The shade in the top right cornor is pretty much the same from underneath the wing all the way down to where the fuselage starts to curve.

The more round the fuselage is the more gradually the shade cast by the wing, will fade (as seen on the two illustrations at the bottom).

Naturally the shade produced by the fuselage itself will darken the lower part of the aircraft. But a clearly defined edge of a shadow cast by a wing will not be visible all the way to the bottom of the fuselage (or the intake, in the case of the F-15). The part of the fuselage thatīs below the wing and is facing it surface away from the wing, will not be affected by 2 shadows and thereby be twice as dark. But only be affected by the shade from the fuselage.

I think on your latest rendition you have done a pretty good job but in my eyes, should the gradient from dark to light be more defined (shorter distance from dark to light)...try to lower it and make it a bit more defined. In that way youīll help defining the shape of the fuselage better (like i have tried to illustrate on the rendition in the top right cornor)

I really hope this helps and doesnīt confuse things even more.

As always: remember this is just my point of view on this matter ;-)

ok yeah i get what you mean now, I'll correct that in a bit, just fixing up the tail top tips with the lighting and shape etc...

    Re: Our first profile

does this look better? I've also fixed the tail now.

    Re: Our first profile

far better ! Perhaps a bit too dark...but the gradient is spot on !

    Re: Our first profile

little update with paint scheme and lighting on wing as well as shadow opacity. That's it for tonight.

See what I mean about the guys here Henry? With their guidance, your profile has undergone a remarkable transformation. You are certainly putting in the effort and time, but without the help of the people here you would still be many weeks away from completion. Excellent work!
