just hate the way you guys are going with this washout rubbish(in my opinion) nearly everybody is going down that road, and trust me as a truck driver, IT'S THE WRONG ROAD! i can post colour photos taken at longer distance and the colours still look right.

It's a yay for me.

John's just trying to bully us I think. I wouldn't mind seeing the photos if you have time to spare.

However, don't forget that everything we do is not necessarily realistic and accurate. For example, I know that the reflected light on the underside does not always occur but I use it because I think it's a good way to create volume... As for the weathering, it's true that it's partially washed out but to me that's part of the work.

I will try, for your sake, to see if such weathering can be achieved without that "side effect", but I'll do that later, and not on Sparty's thread...

It's probably the highlights that are killing it, some artistic license is needed to make it look right and it'll keep John's blood pressure down.
