Inactive? and did we see finished Avro ?? hmmm
but nice choise...I am working on it as well
fingers crossed...
BTW, is Zamexes drawing also off? the one you used 4 years ago?![]()
Since I've been fairly inactive lately, I decided I'd start another one.
Interesting to see that nearly every line drawing I've found is completely off, so I'm working without that. The most common mistake seems to be a fin that is much too high.
Any comments/correction welcome!

Gaetan's one seems to be something sleeker than mine old one. That goes for the fuselage as well as for the fin height.
I was just joking.Inactive? and did we see finished Avro ?? hmmm
I've never drawn so many profiles in my life. Since the month of May, I've done the Mirage III, the L-39, the He 274, the Spitfire, the P-40, the B-25J, the P-51 with Allison engine, the Mosquito and the CG-4 Waco. I'm currently working on the Lancaster and B-17. I've also improved the Ouragan and other drawings and I'm still supposed to do the P-38, P-61, B-24, C-46, C-47, B-29 and late P-40. Once that is done, I also have the A-10 to finish, and the F4U to start.
Edit: I forgot that I also have to do the Fw 190, Bf 109, Avenger, He 277, Beaufighter, Warwick, Catalina and Indian Jaguar.
Zamex: your old drawing was pretty good, but not quite as sleek, just as you say. Have you created a new version?
As far as I can tell, this should be rather accurate. I usually search the web for good side-shots taken at long range (to avoid any lens distorsion). When compared to such pictures, this is correct.
It is a rather sleek aircraft, when side from the side:

Which version are you going for with this B17 as it did vary a bit with the type
Great. Now I have to break out my forever WIP B-17G profile!
December 2008? It's been that long? As far as I got before getting distracted...
Looks to be a later G model judging by the short nose perspex and the Cheyenne tail turret. The top of the fuselage between the cockpit and radio room looks a little too straight; I'll have to check against some photos.
Gaetan, I have plenty of reference material if you need any.
Soo, I wont even strart when you two are involved in the racebut in case of some discrepancies, I have parts manual for G model,

Spot on. Although I'm not 100% sure that's what I'm supposed to do, but I figured a late G was a good starting point.Looks to be a later G model judging by the short nose perspex and the Cheyenne tail turret.
Thanks for pointing out the "roof" straightness, I'll check it. As for reference, I'm always happy to have more.I've never found myself thinking "I have too much reference". The opposite, on the other hand... You can email me at webmaster[AT]gaetanmarie[DOT]com.
I like what you've done so far. You must finish it.
Life's short.Wow why the hurry Gaëtan?![]()
And my customers not wanting to wait forever, also.Actually, not all are for customers in the strict sense of the term (even though I'd love getting paid for every drawing I make).
