Something about that just doesn't look right. Pretty much everything forward of the dorsal turret looks odd. The nose especially seems thin and a little low.

One thing for certain is that the radome is way too thick. The actual ones were a smaller diameter than the Sperry Ball turret. Check out this thread "A Few For The B-17G Mickey Radar Gurus" over at WIX for a lot more details and photos

Hmm, if it is a pregnant banana, then the drawing provided by you John is also that case...see the overlay of mine and the drawing submitted by you.
I believe Zamex did better lines...so the shift in engine, wheel or some others dont bother me too much
Just comparing the shape of body to react to banana hypothesis...

    Re: B-17 Flying Fortress

as jarink says, all the front end is wrong,

looks a bit like a sucked toffee, if you understand what i mean

always concidered the basic shape of the drawing i supplied to be 99% correct, in all the thousands of images i have of the 17, there is not one with that shaped front, i will start shovelling them out to back up what i am saying

Bananas can have ***? That is disgusting. I'll never have a banana split again.
