There's only 3 photos that show masts there, and I'd be willing to bet the shots weren't taken in Spain. All the info I have shows that all 109's shipped to Spain had the radio transmission equipment removed because it was deemed unecessary for Spanish operations. I refer you to "Condor - The Luftwaffe in Spain 1936-1939" by Patrick Laureau which is quite a thorough report on the Spanish Civil War. He has documented just about every photograph of 109's serving in Spain by codes and serials. In no case do I see any evidence of radio masts. At the close of the Spanish Civil War, all aircraft were gifted to the Spanish Airforce as German forces withdrew. It is possible that some (or maybe all) of the surviving 109's were kitted out with RT's AFTER the conflict ended, but while the war endured and the Luftwaffe used the 109's they were never fitted with radios.
Hoist on my own petard. It appears there were a very small number of E's that did have RT's in Spain. I give up John....but not giving up on the drawing of the Ta-152...Don't agree with your interpretation of the nose cowl.![]()
hahahahahahahaha,
got ya
and you should know better than start on about the 152, you know i am right![]()

Its all about having the right reference and it makes more sense now with the roundel already being painted as a single colour before any other personal squadron markings were applied.
That said, the hat logo was almost always a single colour over the original background.
