P-40 (& subvariants) drawings

Hello to all.
Can anybody give any links to detailed P-40 drawings that have all proper detailed rivets lines?
These are not accurate, unfortunately:
P-40 Warhawk Technical

I've started my 1st ever colour profile:

P.S.: by the way, what is the best way to make a smooth curved lines? I use brush or pen tool to make curves (a LOT of fragments) but it looks not really nice (very rough curves)... I'm sure there's better options... Any ideas? (I've just installed Adobe Illustrator but I'm a complete newbie in it...)

try this or just google and count them.

For some reason your profile looks very angular and the spinner should be much more rounded than it is, same goes for the intake, try using some vector masks on layer groups to get the smooth curves the P-40 has, it will make life easier in the long run but for a first profile a good start.

welcome to the twilight zone, with regard the link to the p40 site, those drawings are more accurate than anything out there, i should know i have every peice of junk every drawn of this aircraft, i suggest you compare period images with the drawings

Re. your question: use the pen tool in photoshop. Create a vector and adjust it to be exactly as you need. Once you're satisfied with it, select the brush tool you want (simple 1px brush for lines). Hit P to select the pen tool again, right-click on your vector and select stroke path. (After you can right-click again and delete your vector.)

As for P-40 drawings, you can use airliners.net and similar sites to find as many profile photographs. If this is your first profile, maybe you shouldn't bother too much and use these drawings, especially if John says they're not too bad.

it is my understanding that there is no definative full set of drawing fo this aircraft YET!!!!!!!

To GiantFlyingRobots: thanks for the nice drawing of -E type... I'll use it to make profile of Boris Safonov's -E:

But, unfortunately, the rivets are not very clear visible...

Basic line work still looks ok to me, certainly good enough for me to use as the beginnings of a Warhawk, if I didn't already have enough on my plate, that is. Of course you still need to collect detailed images if you want it to be "absolutely correct."

This really is only a cursory comparison and not really meant to be the jumping off point in a mass debate as to the true accuracy of these drawings.

Try and disregard the fact that the drawing is displayed reversed. I concede that the spinner is waaay off!

Sometimes you just got to go with what you got.

Mangas, I can see the rivet structure pretty clearly. You should be able to use this and a combo of images to get the desired result. If you cant let me know and I'll draw a guide for you.

I've just tried making some rivets on cock -- still not sure either to make them convex or concave?
