    Re: P-40 (& subvariants) drawings

From what i've read, both where used on the P-40E. The rounded ones on earlier examples, then later the "fishtail" exhausts.

E-r-m, can anyone point at a good detailed P-40E walkaround?

Btw, I didn't remember seeing any of your -E's, but you've made some really nice B/C's, and one -F, so I need your suggestion about the shading/hightlight I've made so far... What do you think of this -E?

P.S.: oh, btw, am I the only one who makes all the panel lines/rivets rows after the main 3D shape is done? Should I start makin' 'em first?

Same here, easier to see if they interfere with the shading that way.

Nope. That's also one of my rules now. If you do the lines first, you run a chance of interfering with/screwing up the shape.

I have basic templates for the following models:

    Name: AAA P-40E port model.jpg

Size: 22.3 KB
    P-40E

Name: AAA P-40F early port model.jpg
Views: 435
Size: 22.0 KB
    P-40F with standard fuselage

Name: AAA P-40F late port model.jpg
Views: 430
Size: 22.6 KB
    P-40F with extended fuselage

Name: AAA P-40K early port model.jpg
Views: 431
Size: 22.1 KB
P-40K with short fuselage and fin extension

    Name: AAA P-40L-5-CU port model.jpg
Views: 428
Size: 22.7 KB
    P-40L

And also the P-40B/C. I haven't done many P-40 profiles from lack of time, and some of these templates were created only as "interim" between two templates.

What happened to the Sabres and check your FB messages.

As for lack of time, didn't anyone warn you about married life?

Your P-40's profiles are one of the best I've seen so far!
But I want to make my own template: P-40 is one of my favorite ww2 plane os all times!
(Some of them defended my hometown - Leningrad).

    Re: P-40 (& subvariants) drawings

A little progress on this... Some of the details are still to be done, but the general idea is something like this:

P.S. what do you guys think about the main wheel? I have doubt it's a little-little smaller than it should be... Do you?

P.S.: Dave, if you read this: any suggestion how to make in PS that metal reflection look on the spinner nose?
