    Re: 1953 Cessna 195 Businessliner

Such an eloquent way of saying what I've thought, thought when I've not had that luxury of a really good long distance shot, stitching several together from closer views in photoshop is an adequate second best.

    Re: 1953 Cessna 195 Businessliner

I'm glad to see that I have arrived to the same conclusions as you guys. I still need to perfect it.

For me the biggest problem is that it's not too hard to find such pictures of small- and medium-sized modern planes, but the older or larger aircraft are tougher to document in this manner.

One of these days, I'll give it an another serious shot and I'm sure I will have more success. My last attempt dates back to a few years with the Cessna 172 IIRC and were not very successful...

    Looks nice so far.
Btw, Grubby, do you have in mind to add that striking "chrome reflective" metal to this bird? I'd be happy to see it...

    Thanks, Guys.
Mangas, I will be doing a polished metal bird. At least the Cessna is all the same metal, not like the Mustang!

    Re: 1953 Cessna 195 Businessliner

I don't know if you guys feel the same way, but I find I get quite attached to my subjects. I first noticed this when I did the Fairey Gannet. It was for a magazine and I was not looking forward to it at all, as I've never been a fan of British naval aircraft (Forgive me, John!) and I found the Gannet to be singularly uninspiring. As the drawing progressed and and I became more familiar with the subject, I started to see a strange muscularity and capability appear in the aircraft. I'm now quite fond of it!

The same thing is happening with this Cessna. At first I saw it as a fairly dull civil jobby, but now I find it almost breathtakingly beautiful. The round tail and the cowling in particular.

Does this happen to anyone else?

I'll just keep taking the tablets then.
