that is bloody nice Ronnie,
and the cover crop is fantastic, control surfaces all in the right positions squeezing vapour off the tips, and the slight halo effect from the upperwing![]()
Happy New Year all!
Quick profile of a factory fresh Polikarpov I-16 type 10.
Detail view:
This 3D model was built as an adversary to my Ki-27 for the Osprey Aces book. I have no current plans with this one, but thought it was a waste to do nothing with it. Here's a crop of the cover art for that book:

Amazing work Ronnie!
Ronnie,
the third rivet from the left on top of the cockpit is not scratched enough. Bah !
Seriously, fantastic stuff. Too bad you keep setting the bar too high,
MC
Thanks Simon!
I'll correct the errors in my ways MC!
Unfortunately there's a small error in the model (the cockpit tapers a bit, while it should be straight), which means a lot of rework. Hours if not days. Luckily not seen in side view![]()

Splendid work, Ronnie!
Ronnie,
Good luck with correcting that rivet and the cockpit. I am curious - how do you model the wing filet? Do you extrude from the wing or from the fuselage and have you ever used NURBS to do this?
MC
You know what I think of this sort of work and that evil third dimension
Was it last year or 2012 you started this,? Seem to remember it coming up in the past.
Harriers...uppy downy things.
