There is also a batch file - I think Hunhunter made it? - that makes the whole process easier. Don't worry about having the wrong program, you can skin with PSP.

Thanks Snake! Now that Tutorial I can use it explains everything step by step with pictures! I have NO computer experience with this stuff. I will try it again and thread you with the results.

Also, the skin image must be exactly 1024 x 1024 pixels or it won't work even if it is reduced to 256 colors.

O.K. First of all my Paintshop Pro X only gives me the following options; "Decrease Color Depth" -1) 2 color palette- 2) 16 color palette- 3) 256 color palette- 4) 32k color palette (8bits / channel)- 5) 64k (8bits / channel)- 6) Xcolors(4/8bit)- 7) RGB 8- bits/channel is grayed out. Now I've tried to save my template to 32k which has a size of 13.5 MB 14,258,176 bytes. I saved as; FW-190A template.bmp I've read the tutorial that Snake provided and still all I get is a Black flash on the screen and then nothing.

    Re: Bright problem

Be certain that you are double clicking the batch file, and NOT the bright executable file. The actual executable does nothing if double clicked, it will just make that flash you see.

To get the proper action, you've got to use the batch file (which is activated by double clicking) or you've got to use the command shell to enter the text strings.

    Re: Bright problem

    1. Check your BMP files from PSP are 3 MB in size
    2. Place them in the same directory as bright
    3. Double click the batch file or better run it from a DOS box, so you can actually see what happens (not only a flash).
    4. Check that the BMP files are now 1 MB in size.

If your BMP files changed from 3 MB to 1 MB then Bright converted them OK and you can try them in FB

    Re: Bright problem

Yes, this is the important part! Check your files from the folder to see if they converted. You do not get a message saying that it happened, it just happens.

Check the file sizes as Serval says.

    Re: Bright problem

I do check the files after by opening Properties and no changes in size occur.
