    Creating clothing for pilot skin

I could use some advice on a file. I have a pilot texture in field gray, I would like to convert it to a tan jump suit worn by the LW. What is the best way to add a cloth like look to my work, and is there an way to have some of the features (folds, lines, etc) from the filed grey to translate to the new tan color. Iam using PSP 7
    Thanks

    Hi there,

If you are able to do a color replace (like a hue shift) on the existing pilot texture, then most of his cloth effects and lines should be retained.

I'd say you might start by working on a copy of the field gray, try using a 'colorize' process to add a subtle tan in the hue you need. Then adjust the contrast or brightness from there.

You could try some texturing brushes or filters on the area afterwards, and see if you like the effect.

You can also make a copy of your Pilot file, open Paint in XP and just choose a color you want, trace all the colored area you want to change, save and name it.
I think the Pilot skins have to be named a certain way if I remember correctly?
If not send me the pilot you want colored and I will see what I can do for ya .

Yes Snake, thanks for mentioning that bit about the pilot skin file naming. I had forgotten that!

I think the rule was that there should be no spaces in saved pilot skins or insignias?

RGR There cannot be any Spaces it should look like Chuck_121 or something similar, other wise the game will not see it.
It's been some time since I skinned a Pilot, and then it was just to put my face on one, it was cool at the time.

Thanks for the advice gentlemen. I used the colorize method, which worked quite well.
