@BH: This is the area I'm confused about. Right now I'm just guessing.

@ Sparty: Have you got anything larger and not quite so blurry? That could be very helpful to me

Based on the info I have so far (kudos for Zamex on some excellent info) this is what I have so far. Some of it is guesswork and I HATE doing that!

Now, my next question is, are you sure you don't know what's going on there? Looks like to me It seems to be a cast piece. It looks like the recessed area is a little smaller and more rounded.

According to this picture I'd say there's more web support around the upper link location.
But still, it looks like more than enough for a drawing and with the photos, more than enough for the rendering

BH, take a good long hard look at the photo Zamex sent. Do you see the compartments? How about the rivets? A cast piece yes, but there is a lot of machining going on there too. Not a simple piece for sure.

For those of you interested in the wheel itself (good for both FW's and 109's alike) here it is. Insanity to draw I assure you!

Very nice work on that wheel!!
As Fw 190 is my sweetheart, I went through the extensive files I have collected over the years.. I hope something of these will help:

I have all of these Zamex though perhaps not quite so large. You get Hero of Soviet Union medal for infiltrating German lines and bringing back such secret information. In fact, the effort all of you have put forth in helping with this is most greatfully appreciated. A lot of work to go through for a detail that most will skip over. I don't care. Like Jester I will not stop until I get it right. People rely on information that we, as Simmers, propogate. I owe it to these good people to provide only the best I can produce.

Ah, it looks like 2 or 3 versions? One is cast with smooth recessed areas, one has the recessed machined out, or one has no recesses at all and is all welded???? Could it be?
It would explain why you're having trouble figuring it out if you've got too many versions.
