Just imagine what it must be like being John's daughter on a date. Turn around and he's hiding under a bench or in a tree, just to make sure what's happening. You can run but you can't hide.

I hope you're enjoying your holidays at least, John?

    Re: P-51 Mustangs

So thats where he is, was wondering where he got to, while he's been away my car broke down in his home town, oh the fear! I'm infantry trained so i was the one by my car hiding in trees. i like seeing all these mustangs, as said before the differences shows a lot of how people profile. Keep it up all Of you and i'll Correct my A-36 line drawing so we can have the earliest aircraft that later became the P-51A 'Mustang'

I haven't dome much lately; been busy with some B-17 skins and profile.

I added some ordnance; It was more complicated than I thought it would be!

Another new profile. There's a reason I chose this particular P-51D. I'm also working on a P-51H profile that will carry Crenshaw's postwar colors. This is the plane flown by CPT Claude Crenshaw during his seven-month tour with the 369th FS/359th FG in 1944. During this time, he scored 7 aerial victories and 3.5 ground victories.

    Re: P-51 Mustangs

Two more things to hang under the wings. The first is a 165 gallon drop tank like used by P-38s. These were sometimes used on Iwo Jima-based Mustangs (and P-47s and P-61s!) because of the extreme ranges they flew. This is a WIP; anyone with good info about the brace boards that were used to steady the tanks against the wing would be appreciated.

Also working on 5" HVARs and the associated "zero length" stub launchers as seen on late -25 and -30 production blocks...

I'd never heard of the 165 gal tank used on 51s. Or more probably, I didn't pay attention. Looks nice.

    Re: P-51 Mustangs

    Here's two photos...

    and a P-47 as a bonus!

Though it's not evident in these photos, the P-51s used the braces for these and the more typical 110 gallon tanks, but the P-47s did not (at least not in any of the handful of pictures I've seen).

    Re: P-51 Mustangs

Cool images, I find the P-47 to be especially so, may have to do a similar version for my P-47 update. Does any body wish to guess what colour they may be, OD, gray maybe red? They don't look to be the typical silver.
