Re: First Go - Tornado GR4

I think it is because I have a lot of experience with Illustrator, that I have no problem with Photoshops paths.

Re: First Go - Tornado GR4

John, Illustrator works in a lot of ways quite similar to the tools in Photoshop except with less clumsiness. Keep at it and you'll be fine. I'm 61 and getting a grip on it, so you can too!

As to Photoshop, when it comes to the changes that have been made since v.7 there are some major differences to ease work flow and increase productivity. This has come at the expense of a heavier, more sluggish program. Though I'm currently using CS3 I'm seriously considering going back to CS2 because it's not as much of a memory hog.

Gee, I feel totally left out; I use GIMP. (Yep, I'm a cheapskate!)

LOL! I used to use Photoshop Elements 2, still do occasionally in WinXP. But most of my graphics today are done in GIMP in Ubuntu. My motorcycle painting is being done with GIMP.

Re: First Go - Tornado GR4

I've been using Photoshop CS2 for about a year now and I can't say enough good things about it. Especially some of the new features concerning paths and aligning text to them are neat. In general you wont hear me complain about slugish behaviour, I'd love for it to be able to save pictures in a milisecond but at 10.000 pixels across for a profile I dont mind waiting a bit

BTW Andy a hint; what I do is draw my airplane without any underwing stores like tanks jammer pods etc. That way you stay more flexible with what load out you want afterwards.

I've actually got all my tanks, pods and weapons on seperate layers so that I can turn them on and off for different jets. Thanks for the tip though.

Another quick question though. What sort of page size and resolution do you guy all draw your profiles at?
