Illustrator is another program of Adobe.
If it came with your copy of photoshop, look on the CD. You probably have to install it seperately.
I have a question about Photoshop CS3 Extended. I just got this a couple of weeks agofor a present. I'm new to using Photoshop and just started skinning. I was using the tutorial on using the "pin tool". In the tutorial it mentioned that Photoshop CS3 Ext. came with the Photoshop Illustrator. I'm am not at all that familiar with Photoshop, but learning, I looked everywhere for Photoshop Illustrator and can't find it. Is it just tools that are already in CS3? I tried looking online at the Adobe site, and forget that, it was no help. So I thought I would ask those who use Photoshop everyday. I thought I could use it for some skins.

Thanks Serval I appreciate your reply. I just misunderstood about the Illustrador, I could not find it on my CD. Might have to buy it. Is it worth the money if I have Photoshop CS3 Extended? Sorry for the questions I'm new at this.
CS3 Extended is the latest and greatest, so I'd figure it has pretty nice vector and path support built in. A CS3E owner would have to post and let you know.
Especially for Skinning I'd say Illustrator is not (yet) worth your money. It is expensive and is a complete other program then Photoshop.
Photoshop is for working with photo's and other pixel besed images like skins. This results in files like BMP, TGA, JPG, GIF etc.
Illutrator generates vector based images. So, it creates images based on lines and not on pixels. So, much like paths in Photoshop. Such images are othen used for printed matter, since you have not resolution loss when you need to scale it up or down. Some people here use Illutrator to dran lines and panel lines for their artwork. But to start with you should have enough with the paths function Photoshop offers.
I have to agree, it's a great program and if you use it already and like it, you NEED it. But, if you've never used it you can get by on Photoshop alone. A lot of people here use Illustrator for the drawing stage of the profile but if you had to choose one or the other I think most everyone doing rendered profiles would choose PS. It also comes down to which program/application you're more comfortable using. So, as you're just starting, no need for Illustrator yetIt's a really great piece of software but only if you can afford it.
FAST AND BULBOUS!
Thanks to everyone for the information. I think I'll stay with this PS. I am just learning to use it. It's really fun making skins, and I still have allot of questions.
