Thread: He-162 "Spatz"

    Re: He-162 "Spatz"

Speak what language? It's got pictures on it, that's all I need

Santy, if you know how I feel about fonts, you'll know my solution is always to find a similar font, convert it to a path, and the edit the path to make it conform to the photos.
That's a load of work though, especially if you aren't used to doing it.
The closest font I have is called Eurostile. It looks like you have to pay for it. I've never bought any fonts so it must have come with my Mac. But it's got several deficiencies-
    Name: tire_font.jpg
Views: 369
Size: 207.9 KB
The N and A mostly. Plus, it's more rounded than it should be.
And, another tip, I doubt you could find an outline font at all, I converted the font to a path and then stroked it to get the outline effect.

Just in case you want to see it, I laid out the CONTINENTAL lettering using Eurostile, the PSD has the font path on it.
    tire_font.psd.zip
Feel free to use it, or even better, edit the path so it matches

Nice formwork on the casting. It's very tasty. Tyre is coming up well too. I think the highlights on the tyre need to be toned down a bit, I get the feeling the light band with the CONTINENTAL text is glowing!
    Looking good, Santo.

WOW! 100% improvement! Like Grubby says, there is always room for more though. I agree with his comment on the glowing letters, maybe adjust the amount of saturation?
One other thing I'd like to see is a little more difference in the color of the metal wheel and the rubber tire. This is something that, although they probably should be the same color, artistic license will make your art stronger. I'd suggest making the rubber a bit warmer and the metal wheel a but colder.
Again, EXCELLENT job on this, the tire looks like a tire now

Santynus; if you are using photoshop I'd advise setting the blending mode of the layer that has the white bits for the panel lines to soft light or hard light. That will help it blend in better with the paintscheme
