Wow!! One of your best, GFR! That wing is super stuff. My only minor suggestion would be to sharpen the blade pitch shadows to emphasize the leading edge of the lower prop blade.

Congratulations on a fine, fine Dora

    Hi GFR!

Very fine work! Great to see a profile showing the personal plane from Hans Dortenmann. Here you will find a great model showing that plane. It's built by Klaus Herold, a fellow of the www.rlm.at Website. http://www.rlm.at/cont/gal31_e.htm

Just one thing. The dirt of the exhaust gases looks a little bit strange.

    Cheers, Simon

    hello Simon,

Its funny that you mention Klaus Herold's fine model as it and a small period picture of Hans Dortenmann standing in his cockpit, has proved to be the main source of reference for this profile.

As for the exhaust gases check out this image, its the basis for how I have chosen to illustrate them, I have dropped the opacity down quite a bit, and probably helps.

    Re: Dora

I'm trying to complete some of my(many) un-finished profiles, and decided to have another go at the Dora, but after opening up what is now a relatively old file, I decided that I wasn't entirely happy with how it had progress thus far.

So I paint striped it, and pretty much re-worked it in its entirety, here's a progress report.

A little more detail work...Then back to the paint shop.

Dang, GFR. I've lost the will to continue the D-9 I'm working on.

    Fine work!

Keep at it Wr, there have been plenty of great Dora's around here, and I'm sure that there will be plenty more in the future. Like the P-51 everybody has a go at it some time.

    Re: Dora

Did some checking against one of the first drawings I did. I was just as sticky then as I am now even though my skills were pretty lousy. Looking very, very nice GFR! My only sugesstion is that a lot of the panel lines are overdrawn and too dark...but it's still a WIP so I'll shutup.
