Spot on, AP. It's A IIIO to be even more specific.

looks great ! Is this how you usually work with your profiles ? Doing one bit at a time and then put it all together in the end ?

I´m always interested in hearing how other do their artwork, so if you don´t mind, I would really like to know how you do it.

    Thanks

    Re: The Grande Illusion

    Thanks, Guys.

AP: How I work depends on file size. Something like the Pipers I do all in one file. Anything more complex I like to make sub-assemblies and then bring flattened versions into one main assembly file. That way the files stay at a managable size and I'm not spending several minutes saving each time. I also get fewer crashes this way.
I do have to be careful that lighting and shading matches fairly closely. I also add layers of shadow to the imported subassemblies to help blend them all together. The end result is a main illustration with 20 or 30 layers instead of several hundred.

The downside of this method is that you do a lot of opening and closing files and flattening and re-importing as you find errors or want to change the colour scheme.

Gaetan, sounds good, do you have a favorite scheme? I remember some nice Swiss schemes, too. There was one in gloss bright ed with an enormous daisy on the underside running the full width of the wings! I think the IIIS was the same as the IIIE and IIIO.

    Grubby.

    The Mirage gradually materialises ...

This "build" is reminding me of a Cheshire cat!

Or maybe: "Here's a Mirage being tested with a new stealth-paint on the fuselage."

Cant quite put my finger on it, but there is something missing Grubby. Tail, nose and gear looks good, but the rest is letting this one down. Sorry but its not up to your usual high standard.

you are working the way of the Gods, doing them piece by piece, just like me, oh, i am the God
even GM as come over to the LIGHT side of the force ( for jester ) and is now doing profiles in sections, ya can do um bigger, then when ya ready you resize and join the bits, ya get far better detail
