    Re: P-51B/C Mustang

Thanks Jarink and GFR. The first images were somewhat helpful, but I'm trying to be as accurate as possible and for that I need as much reference as I can get my greedy little hands on...

@BH: yep that's exactly it. In addition, my file is larger than usual (35 cm at 300 dpi, instead of 30 cm), with many patches and corrections. So it's twice as heavy as what I usually work with, and my computer doesn't like it...

    While I'm at it:

A client wants greeting cards with a Tempest, but I just couldn't stand looking at my old Tempest drawings:

Size: 25.9 KB

So I decided to make a quick'n'dirty improvement of the template and ended up with this:
    Name: Tempest V NV724 JF-E Grand Charles Clostermann improved.jpg
Views: 431
Size: 29.1 KB

Granted, it's still far from perfect but it's already much better. I ended up improving the entire series and updating my website.

(I know this is completely OT but I figured there was no point in creating a new one just for this).

Back to the Mustang: I hope to finish the last details (radio + instruments) this weekend.

The P-51 is a rather slippery piece of work to do. No one seems to be able to agree on the details. For a surviving aircraft, I find this rather mystifying. Looks hot to me Gammy!

The P-51B/C template is at ~100-110 Mo closed, and counting. I know for most people this is not that much but keep in mind I use outdated soft- and hardware. In 12 years, I will update to Windows 7 and Photoshop CS2.

There is everything wrong with outdated software, that's why it's outdated. PS 7? Try PS11 ( CS4 is its Sunday name). S'wonderful.(That is - once you've managed to get the thing to install - seems to fox a lot of people from what I've heard).

    Well, PS7 is that bad:

    Is it?

I use PS7 because a)my computer can handle it, b)it's cheap. I'm thinking of upgrading to CS2 but I need somebody to buy at least a dozen drawings from me first.

Photoshop CS29 (whatever ) is waaaaay too expensive for me.

More seriously: I think the P-51B template is ready. Had great fun dissecting the various pictures you guys so nicely shared and I think the result is correct, but comments/corrections are welcome.
