Hahaha, nice Stukauntless! XD
Sure thing Logan, once its on-line its out of my hands anyways.

Thanks, so much GFR! I'll be sure to put it to good use. It may have been out of your hands once it hit the web, but I couldn't have just ripped it and slapped it in without getting your permission, first. I don't know that I'd appreciate seeing a piece of my work sticking out of someone's profile without so much as a "please" or "thank you"--especially if I'd spent as much time or put as much detail into it as you do!
Thanks for the compliment, Goodwood. Designing the what-if aircraft was a nice excursion from the Frogfoot and Hind profiles that I had been doing. The fictitious Viking profiles have been a lot of fun to do. I've done about 32 profiles of the aircraft so far. This one started life as a good quality Ju 87 V4 line drawing and quickly got a P-66's R-1830 engine (that moved around about 20 times before landing where it did. The cockpit and rudder soon changed, but the cockpit went through at least half a dozen iterations before you got what you see now. The tail didn't change a ton, it just took a long time to do all the detail. It was modeled on the XF4U's tail. I then reshaped the forward fuselage and moved the wing back a bit to make up for the fuel and airframe changes. The prop came from a Dauntless as did the bomb cradle. The radio antenna and cockpit interior arrangement came from the Dauntless, too, although I drew them both from scratch (as I did much of the propeller spinner and hub). Finally, there were some more late game changes to the Ju 87's structure, most notably the XF4U-style oil coolers in the leading edge of the wing root, the XF4U-style cowl guns, the machine gun fairings in the wings, and the recontoured upper fuselage between the cockpit and tail.
It's a Frankenstein of Ju 87, P-66, F4U, and SBD elements that I think blend pretty well.
Thanks again!
Logan
Jeez... I cant believe that it's been 10 months since I did any work on this one. I think I better finish it before I forget how I got to this point.
OOOH, looking good! I forgot all about this one!
One thing I'd really love to see are some highlights on the panel over-laps and highlights on the raised rivet heads. I think that surface detail would really go a long way.
But no hurry of course. I can see you've got a few things left to finish![]()
FAST AND BULBOUS!
Hmmm . Now that's looking great so far ..GFR
Done quite a bit of revision on this one, and now working on the wing, which are the bane of my existence.
Looking very good!
+1. When will they make wingless aircraft?now working on the wing, which are the bane of my existence
Slowly moving ahead. I've re-done all the panel lines and rivets.
The more I look the more stuff that I see that I have missed.![]()
