Re: The skies are full of 109's

    Small Update:

BH, for the moment I'm going to leave it as is. I can always go back in and change it later. The octane triangle won't know what hit it when I get through with it!

    Thanks for the comments!

Re: The skies are full of 109's

    Hi

I found this photo of the aircraft. Probably the other photo you mentioned earlier?

The triangle area does look much darker on this version:

Hey Clint, that is the other photo I was referring to. That patch of paint is definately darker than the cowl, but is it because of shadow, fouling, paint shade... we may never know!

Roughed the canopy in the other day. I tried a new layering technique and it was successful, but the colors are off (on the canopy). I'll need to go back in and fix that. Jester and I put our heads together and determined that the tail shading was incorrect. Minor adjustments to make before I move on and finish the canopy/cockpit area.

Like I said, the canopy is only roughed it at the moment and needs a lot of detailing.

when U compare upper paint just behind the canopy and the darker triangel...looks to me like the same color...
Dunno reason why it should be green, but looks like it...

That is also my impression. Might be wrong, but it really looks like that to me.

Re: The skies are full of 109's

It's a tough one. I still think it's got something to do with the fact that the other yellow panels are removable and this triangular area hasn't had as much attention as the other yellow parts? Could it be green? Was the cowling green prior to being painted yellow? Could the removable yellow parts be from another machine? All sorts of possibilities. Looking anyway VT

Edit: Looking at the photos again it does look as if the diagonal line of the yellow does pass through a removable panel as well. So the removable panel fact may not mean a thing? Dunno if there are any photos of this machine before the cowls were painted yellow out there?
