Re: Ju88A
Hi Simon, Cheers dude!
Hi Aircraft profiles, Yes might be right but at the moment all highlight, shadows/shading etc are kinda close but not perfect. I'll be going in after majority is complete and adjusting them til I'm happy with how they look with each separate paint scheme. I'm glad you noticed our similar working style because I pretty much studied your style on your F4U Corsair (Shame it might be lost
) and really liked your outcome so I'm trying it myself. Very different to how i've done profiles before but I can see already that it's a step in the right direction.
How do you mean focused highlight? Too Bright? again all work up till now is only almost there but I've also got a funny feeling my client may want a fresh, factory finish but any other profiles I create after are gonna be DIRRRRTy. Also expecting all weathering, dirt etc to tone that down. Also gonna try a couple of techniques to make it bumpy (the specular of the rivets/stressed skin) later (like your F4U). I'm thinking of trying to quickly make the bumpy specular highlight different for each separate profile by creating a textured blk&white layer overlapping the profile and setting the layer to exclusion then moving the layer slightly each time so it affects the highlight layer differently on each profile. Don't hold me to this that's just my ideas on how to overcome each profile looking like it has the same bumpy/stressed specular highlight. I dunno if it will work? but thats later. What do you reckon?
Cheers

Re: Ju88A
Hi Clint
In my opinion the highlight is too bright and too narrow...but again iīm not sure how glossy the paint that was used by the Luftwaffe was. The midnight blue used by the US Navy in the early post war years was quite glossy, so i have tried to make the highlights abit brighter that i normally would.
Iīm very happy to hear that you have used the F4U i made as inspiration to some of the techniques you use. Please donīt hesitate to ask any questions I still think i remember most of it.
Luckly the only thing that was on my external harddisk (a brand new one) was my new F-4 rendition, which i was very pleased with. However, i hope the problem can be fixed.
Thanks !

Re: Ju88A
wow! I would never spend so much time on things I don't see on finished profiles. But have to agree that if you want to show the emblem it's a good idea.
Cheers,
