I don't mind at all. Debate away gentlemen. I'll be sitting in the background watching with intrigue.

    Hi Guys

Initial shading work on the rudder is complete. I've toned down the highlight on this section (thanks Simon, Vacajun for the pointer).Name: rudder.jpg

Hi Clint without getting into the sun angle times by the left side of the moon and then bounced of the inner atmosphere approach would it not be more prudent to change you background colour to white to effectively appraise highlight intensity. The environment colour grey or any other colour will ultimately effect the overall contrast of the final piece. If it is be on a white background then this relationship should be taken into account, I'm sure the highlights would look differently. Placing a black square on a white tile, and white square on a black tile, although the same colour will have a different intensity(resonance to the viewer) and this does not limit itself to black and white combos. Its a matter of common sense and balance rather than science. This is not a volumetrics rendering. As you know all highlights fade as do the shadows, in real life and illustrated, at then end of the day it's up to you. Cant wait for the finish, fine work fella.

looks great clint ! this is going to be a really great piece of work once you are finsihed. What about the shade cast by the horisontal stabilizer ?

I canŽt upload attachment for some strange reason, but once i figure out why, iŽll upload the illustrations for my past entree.

Keep up the good work !

Grafikco: Sorry to have bored you with my past entrees.

    Re: Ju88A

    Hello Gentlemen

Grafikco: Thanks for your kind words. I have had a white background set up for sometime and I've been switching it to check things out from time to time. The reason why a white version has not been posted yet is the camo need redoing as each separate colour is a separate segment and I've got the dreaded white jaggedies in between each segment when viewed close up, which I will sort out when needed. But below is a white background version for you to see:

AC Pro: All shadows and I should have a lot of them (switches on wing root + details on the rudder, stab etc) will be created last and at the same time so as to keep them consistent in relation to each other. Won't be long dude. Still very far from finito. Thanks again for your support.

    Thanks

Great job. Good idea to wait and add the shades until the very last moment ! I usually draw template i vector graphics for all the objects that cast a shadow...consistency is pretty hard to get even then !

Keep up the good work. I think this will be a great profile !

I canŽt seem to get my illustrations uploaded, but it seems like some in here is feed up with my explinations, so i might be the best thing, if i keep them to myself after all.

Thanks dude, me too AC Pro. Absolutely everything is first created in Illustrator then moved into PS and Path to selection. Even setting up the highlights & shadows with shape blends in Illustrator gives a really nice controlled blend from light to dark. Could not work without it. Vector work in PS is just not powerful enough (yet).

Now yeah talking Clint different job altogether. Race for the finish then tweak all the bits for balance, love it.

    Re: Ju88A

    Hi AP,

OK, I see what you mean more clearly now. I agree with your point, it's just that your initial explanation could lead to some confusion. Indeed, the highlight should not have the same consistency all over the aircraft, since it is not a cylinder.

IMHO, Clint, you've reduced the reflection a bit too much on the rear fuselage, but I'll wait for the end product. In addition, we all have our ways of seeing and drawing things, so...

    Keep up the good work!
