    Hi Arjen,

Simmer and nederlandseluchtvaart closes ... this is very very bad ... I'm shocked!
What is the exact reason... and there's nothing left to do?

    Worried Greetings from me

Mate, I hope you can keep this place up and running, as it has a unique character that's found nowhere else on the web. I'd hate to see it go.

If God forbid it does all go up in smoke, we've created a special sub-forum for profile art on MilMesh: Military Profiles - Military-Meshes.com
Please see Facebook for my latest work: www.facebook.com/aviationart.aero

    Re: Simmers Paintshop closing

I'd just like to say a big thanks to Arjan for running simmers as long as he did, fantastic job from start to finish. Can't blame you one bit for closing simmers faced with the heavy responsibility of fines and the such. I'd have been out the first time if it were me.

On another note, I'd also like to say a fond fair well and blue skies to Otter, a person I considered "friend" who I met through simmers. I've not spoken here about it until now, its cut me quite hard and finding words to express how I feel is . . . well enough said.

A toast to two "greats" coming to pass.

Sincerely good luck to you all.

    Re: Simmers Paintshop closing

    Dear Arjan,

thank you so much for having provided all of us with such a tremendous site. I learned so much here and i think the spread of skills simmerspaintshop made possible is a phantastic thing. I have finished the illustrations for a book about the Fw 190 some months before and that would have never happened without Simmerspaintshop.

I hope there will be some alternative where we can meet again.

    Best regards:

    Björn

    Re: Simmers Paintshop closing

    Hi Arjen,

I can well understand the bad taste in your mouth over this episode. This is a unique forum. We come from all corners of planet earth (I now live in Cambodia) and yet we share a similar passion. We exchange valuable skills and learn from each other. We are usually nice to each other (even John sometimes has nice comments exclaim!). My view is that we should now form a dedicated site for members only, where you need a password to enter. There are similar sites on the web (I hold membership to one and it works exceptionally well). The site would not/ not be visible to the general public (including bullies such as pedantic corporate wallahs snooping for alleged copyright infringements). We would need a moderator, and the site could pay for itself with limited advertising. Alternatively I'd be happy to financially contribute. I truly believe we have created a unique community here, and I suspect most of us fell strongly about keeping the place going. Regardless, Arjen has done a great job, and to you Sir, we are much obliged.

So guys and gals, tell me what you think about this,

    MC
