    Re: Started something new.

    try again,

reduced the lenght of the profile so there should be no jpg compression, also a close up of the fuselage markings.

No way. Not until you've corrected a few things:

*glazing is a good start. The top fifth of the glass effect looks very good IMO. But the part beneath that looks a bit flat. You should try to pull that effect downwards if you see what I mean. You've done a succesful job at showing the shape of the glazing but there is still some work to do. Obviously you've found a good way to do it so now keep working at it.
*the shading of the fuselage is incomplete and it looks much too flat. Take a big black brush and shade that fuselage until it looks nice and rounded. This is a quick and dirty mod to show what I mean:
    Name: Sans titre-1 copie.jpg
Views: 171
Size: 34.7 KB
*the underside of the wing could also use some extra shading.
*something's wrong with the highlight on the spinner. It should be thinner on the front and broader near the engine.

C'mon now John. Christmas is over. Get back to work. If you don't I'll come and get ya. BTW, you need exhaust stains and a second navigation light.

    Re: Started something new.

I would love to make comment on the finished profile but...I cant find a decent image or reference(on-line) to compare it to, and I know next to nothing about the type. Can you provide us with any John?
Also, where is the retracted landing gear and folded wing that you went to the trouble of illustrating earlier in the thread? Also don't think you are done until we see it finished in NMF.

    Re: Started something new.

and here is the turret fitted how fairey planned it, the first one was from the magazine cutaway, which is wrong.
also only one more layer of shadow plus an extra layer of darker bottom edge, exhuast stains applide and second nav light, also wing gun fitted.

will post some images of the real thing later, plus a PSP7 file of the .5 browning barrel for you to use

    still not done the spinner

    here you go GFR,

sorry you had to wait, had to go and watch The Lionman on tv
and i will do the all down version as well, once i get this one right.

No1 is the cutaway, flight i think, or Aeroplane.
No2 and No3 are from the RAF Museum
No4 is the Fairey GA drawings suplied by Ian Huntley
    No5 GA drawings from Flight

and the PSP7 file of the gun barrel, hope your various drawing programs open it
