I really don't understand the fascination with prop shadows around here, whilst it may be technically correct to illustrate one, they just look wrong in a profile.
hi GM,
thank you for your kind words, now go back to school and learn to read, it is the prop reflection!!! not shadowtried adding shadow and it looked really weird so i removed it
working on the undercart now, just wait till it's finished, then you can really take the p***![]()

hi girls,
i have been very busy with this, here is what i have been doing, first the undercarriage leg, still not finish, and then the hydraulic pipe coupling, this will be resized to fit on those pipes on the legtold you i was wacko
anyone wants a copy of the pipe coupling i can post it as a PSP file.

Looking good !! JM![]()
John, visually I'm reading that shock strut as being square. I think you need to spread the blend out a bit more so that the contrast is not so stark. Same goes for the coupling....and please do post the PSP file for lazy sods like me.

hi otter,
here the new version, kept thinking to myself that it looked wrong, i was using the standard Chrome gradient, it would be alright used horizontal
anyway i have created my own version in the gradients folder, moved the black pointer and added a couple more pointers, looks fine now.
this new version is not using chrome at all.
will post the PSP file when i have finished the complete bulkhead union and the metal pipe coupling.

right,
here is the finished product, from the top down,
metal pipe and nut
bulkhead union with locking nut
hydraulic pipe coupling rubber pipe.
enclosed is a PSP file for you to use
now i will just resize it down to about 3mm to fit on the profile
by the way, the dark grey line is the bulkhead/bracket should be thicker, so just cut the drawing on the line and paste at the correct distance you require.

Looking much better John! Good for you on going with your own chrome rather than doing what the program tells you to do. Watch the white hilite though. It should follow the shape of the surface. Right now they are all perfectly vertical. Is there a way you can curve the gradients? You've pushed PSP so far byond the limits of anything I know I can't suggest a fix, but being an illustrator/designer I do know when something is out of place.
Ooops!!! I used your old file for corrections. What was I thinking???The same elements of positioning shadows hold true though, so not time entirely wasted.
give me a break!!
just got in from a twelve hr shift, first load to whipsnade zoo, then back to bardon a take a load of black to lincoln.
and i get home to find you picking on me
the nut on the hose section is crap, it really needs doing again.
the bevelled sections have sloping gradiants, you are just too old to see themi drew a rectangle then used the deform tool on the top left hand corner whilst holding the Ctrl key, this slopes in both sides and every thing else except the centre point, which is how it should be.
now regarding the curved shadow, sorry but you guy have not convinced me that it should be done that way, i have been looking at curved surfaces since it came up here, and i think that if you are looking directly at it, then it will look straight, so i challenge you lots to prove me wrong(should not be hard to do)
with regard the makers logo, only added it for a bit of fun, anyway i am to busy using CS3yes i said CS3, trying to find a better way to do the steel oil pipes, and i think i have cracked it.
there's hope for me yet.
