    Re: Apology up front.

The panels were riveted not just to the ribbing
    Quit repeating what I said
Just trying to show some of the difference in how the fuselage looks. I may not have done a profile of the 109...yet, but I've been looking at it and studying it for the best part of my 45 years. I think I've got most every book you can find on the subject and that's why I brought up the looks of the fuselage sections. Not all of them show any creases or rolls or any deformation at all. If anything, I'd say it was more common to see a 109 fuselage as straight as and smooth as an arrow rather than a wrinkled one.
But I'm pretty convinced with where Jester is ending up so I'll stop back-seat art directing

    Re: Apology up front.

BH, there is no try...only do! I thought I knew this bird inside out until I actually started to draw it. It was like I knew nothing at all and it's taken since 2006 to get this far. Mind you...I'm trying to do the whole series. I've only just now almost finalized the G-K series. Once I'm sure thats as close as I can get, the E's and F's are waiting for me.

Shuddup John! Gimme a break. I'll get to the BCD's when I've got all this crap sorted out.

    Sounds familiar.

One of my clients talks of the dynamic nature of research. You are a living example of this.

<<+- seems to have some sort of nasal disease... What's wrong?

I'd almost forgotten how awesome your 109s were.

    Only backwards talking there is

    Point taken

    Looks great Jester! One thing I think would make the yellow with overpaint look killer;
Can you vary the amount of highlight on the yellow and green? Maybe less highlight on the yellow? I think less highlight on the green makes sense but I don't think it would work pictorially. In fact I'm not sure if it will work at all. But just looking at it, it looks like a custom auto paint job, base coat and accents, all under hand rubbed clear coat.
Not saying it looks bad mind you, but it looks like an opportunity to increase realism one step further

    Re: Apology up front.

    Thanks guys.

@ BH, yes, I know what you are saying, it just goes mental over the yellow for some reason. I will see what I can do about that, but on the good side, it looks far worse on the thumb than it does on the full count.

@ John . . . . tut tut, on the war time photographs of white 2 there is no intake on the port side, only on the starboard. Remember, I only draw um, I didn't build um, so blame the Germans.

    Re: Apology up front.

@ John: Outlet or inlet John? For the most part, G-2's did not have these unless they were factory produced tropical versions of which few were produced. Only the starboard intake was visible.

@ Gammy: Add more Gausian blur to the green maybe? Do I look like an artist to you? I think Jes is cooking here though the spots may be a bit harsh. White 2 is smack on though, but I can't convince Jes to make it more beat up looking. I think Jes had it right when he said he thinks the pilot crashed this one so he could get a new machine. It had been overpainted and patched so much it looked like it belonged in a midden. Brand new spinner (or at least freshly painted) but the rest is crap.

Thanks for the comment about research, but Jes is the one bringing it to life. My linework is boring...but here is the living, breathing machine. Chokes me up actually. There is NO SUBSTITUTE for thorough research!
