you thought you could escape my nasty ways by doing tanks, wrong, they are my third love, battleships being the second.
Ooops! I inadvertently hijacked Thierry's thread, so I'll start my own. Guys, I work exclusively in Illustrator which is the easiest (for me anyways) and best for line work. All paths are vectors, so no matter how large you view the image the lines are always crisp and clear.
The first thing I started on this was a single track link because I knew the track would be the most difficult to draw. That was set off to one side and I then did the running gear. Then I began to place the links by copy and paste one at a time. The key here is that the track pins HAVE to line up! Tedious work I assure you. That being done, I adjusted the track drape to match my photos.
Now the job of cutting away the excess lines has begun. As you can see, I'm about half way through the process so any adjustment to track drape would be very difficult now though I will try to increase the drape between the last return wheel and idler wheel.

Do you want to use this?

I might need to rework that wheel so that it's more accurate if it will match your line work![]()
FAST AND BULBOUS!
Oooops!! Ein grosse boo-boo gemachen! We're both wrong BH. The road wheel actually has 8 ridged "spokes". Back to the drawing board....but then I never really left it. I'll have to flip back to the road wheel layer. I'm surprised Thierry didn't pick up on that.

Too much Polish Wodka for me tonight....Hip !
Good work at all !
Wlad the Kameleon (hip !)
Otter is right,
Both Otter and Jester are right
I'm not sure how I ended up with 6 spokes though, sloppy copy/paste/rotate I guess![]()

Like me, too much Wodka !![]()
No, for me it's listening to Nine Inch Nails....or getting spaced out on track links. Not sure which drives me crazier. I thot I'd done 7 spokes ( nothing on this beast is symetrical) but no, I got it right. Back to the drawing board for you BH.
