I agree with John - Your underwing shadows need to be corrected. Look at Your first one profiles at this treed - shadow is in the rear of the wing but not in the front. It should be under.

    Don't get discouraged.

If there is one thing that you will learn if you stick around 'simmers long enough is that you need an incredibly thick skin to post up Luftwaffe types, as the 'advice' will com thick and fast.

I for one, like the treatment of the fuselage, but think that the wing needs a little more work to help it project out from the screen the way it should. You could add a stronger highlight to the wing tip.

Don't get discouraged indeed. I rather like the profile and will neither comment on the colours or technical details, as we already have resident Experten to do that (that and the fact I am not qualified to do so, of course).

I think that if people are criticizing your drawing as much, it's also because every one sees it has good potential. If we thought it was crap, nobody would bother.

Just my 2 cents. Keep it up.

My first post got a response of 'that's nice' and it was only a couple of months later once it had gone to print that some errors were pointed out! Well yes quite a few errors were pointed out before hand which were changed but not everything.

When it comes to the technical accuracy some people on here can really be relied on to know what they are talking about and paying attention to.

Still not looking forward to posting up any Luftwaffe stuff as Otterkins may well put down farmville and completely destroy my post!

Relax Inky. Maybe I don't come across well. I'm not exactly a genius at tact anymore than John is. What I see wrong I try and help correct. It's up to you if you want to accept the advice or not. I'm no genius and I'm as prone to errors as the next guy. That's why we all post here. If the guys can't rip it apart, you are excelling at the craft. If they poke holes in it, it means you just have to go back and rethink the project. Hopefully you aren't 90 bajillion layers into it by then. Post early and post often and you can back up without too much grief.

The eagle eyed users of simmers aren't infallible.

If you can be bothered look up my Typhoon thread, countless pages and nobody ever picked up how far out the wing was. A new and improved version will be posted real soon.

Drawing is 90% looking, 10% making marks.
The worst of us have problems seeing whats right in front of us, not with doing the drawing bit.

I really like it it's very well done!!! Luftwaffe aircraft are my favorite subject. most of the criticism on this site is purely meant to help you become a better artist. The only thing I would add is some weathering especially to the black cowling (it's too clean), otherwise I think it's great!!! Check out this profile for inspiration. http://luftwaffeinprofile.se/Moritz.html

    Hello everybody,

first of all: a happy new year to all of you!

Of course i didn't get discouraged...

Thank you all for your valuable advice and support. I just changed some stuff, most important the spent cartridge ejection port according to a photo showing a Fw 190 with a wing mounted MK 108. I also added more maintenance markings and edited all of the panel lines to make them look more plastic.
