Hi Simon
I thin it is fine. Color is good when it should be weatered sun bleached version I guess...
so it is OKI like it!
The colour looks good compared to the colour photos I have. There was a stardard Simon, but it wasn't followed very closely. If you feel right about the colour, it IS right.

REALLY GREAT WORK Simon!!! Always a pleasure to see
I think the 79 looks good but that's purely by eye. No matter what, it looks how I would expect to to look.
One thing though, your shading, panel lines and details look a little gray against the yellow. They are planned out so they look the best on European camouflage colors, yes? Maybe you might think of modifying those layers to reflect a slightly warmer tone on the 79? That might be more work than it's worth though. Just thinking out loud
Nice photos a research in this thread too!!!!

Thank you Santo, Otter, Peter, Heli, Blowhard and John!
@Heli, this is a really nice shot! Never seen such thing before. BTW: It's an early Ju88A with the short wings.
@BH: I understand what you mean! Maybe a brown would be better on such a light sand base colour, but it would be really a lot of work to change all these layers from black to another colour. Long time ago I decided to do lights and shadows just with black and white with different opacity. With different colours it would be a too big challenge. This sand colour plane is really an exception. Most planes I do have dark gray/green base colours so the black/white shadows/lights are good enough.
Cheers, Simon
PS: John, email sent.
I agree with you Simon, changes aren't always practical or even possible. I have a kind of compromise with my file set-up. I use black and white for shading but I use combinations of layers set to normal, soft light and overlay for my shadows and highlights. they pick up some color from what color they're over. But it's not perfect either. It really depends on how you work and yours works great of most every color you're doing.
One other idea, and again it depends on how you work, but could you set up a plane in standard colors, make a combined layer and adjust the color to sand? This could work perfectly but it depends on having your files set up in a certain way.
Complicated as always but I'm just thinking out loud.
Your plane is beautiful as it is. I just always look for ways to improve on perfection and you're so close to perfection
Do you have more 88s to do?
FAST AND BULBOUS!
Hi folks!
Long time ago that I have posted something here. Another plane - a C-version.
BH: thank you for the kind words, but I'm notsure if I'm really close to perfection. That's a long way to go I think.
Yes, there will be a lot more Ju 88 in future. All versions.
Cheers,
That's a nice one!Will the Ju 88 be the new F-104?
