    Re: Albatros D series

Now what was I writing last night...

you never do anything half assed do you
If only you know what a half assed life I lead!

Here's an update, a little change to the shading and panel brads on the fuselage.

That fuselage band is spurious, just testing paint with a little wood grain showing through for effect.
I'm a little torn between wanting to show those panel lines through the paint even though they were filled and sanded smooth.
Now I need some wrinkles and warping in that ply skinning

    Really nice photos Phas3e, thanks!

Hey Elephant, I just took a look at your photos and I realized I already have them all, grabbed from Photobucket. So a belated THANKS is in order Are you Jamo over at the Aerodrome by any chance?

I assume the highlights and shading are still WIP?

Looks very good already but, coming from you, I'm expecting it to be even better by the time it's finished.

No, I'm also "elephant" in Aerodrome...
I saw some great illustrative work of yours there Dave! (In Tim West's thread about plagarism).
I'm so glad you started working on my beloved Albatros!
I was expecting that you'd probably be aware of those pics but, anyway, I just had Jamo's photobucket page bookmarked and handy...

Sure thing, very wip-ish still. And be aware that what I've got now is just general shape shading, as if it were a smooth solid block of wood. Not surface details yet.

No louvers yet, just flat plates that will be flanges for them.

    Awesome.
I'm a sucker for bare metal finishes, but this looks very tasty as well!
