Just finished another tonight.

Thanks! I based it on this image and really tried to work with the lighting and color to give it a look similar to graphite on a piece of paper. I thought it turned out pretty good.

And another, this one's IJAAS at the Akeno Army School.

I have always liked this plane, very nice job.
Pretty cool!
The "turtle" camo is awesome. I love the Japanese one too, but I am not sure the fabric areas would've been grey-green, seeing as this was a Japanese factory-applied colour. Unless of course it was license produced![]()

Thanks, guys! Skyraider, the Japanese one does indeed represent a license-built one. In this case, it's one built by Nakajima, but I also have profiles of aircraft hypothetically built by Hitachi in the factory constructed for that purpose.

Thanks! It's actually all based on real plans the IJNAF had for Hitachi to license-build the He 100. I have my doubts about this relatively inexperienced manufacturer's ability to pump out large numbers of He 100s quickly, so we have the IJN hedging its bets and getting Nakajima to help out. They did this very thing in real life by getting Nakajima to license build the A6M2. That's the reason why Nakajima's interim floatplane fighter was based on the A6M2, resulting in the Rufe. Since Nakajima would be building the He 100 instead of the A6M2, we made the floatplane fighter the He 100-based A9He1 Wade.

I really like the way this one turned out, too. Given that the IJNAF actually had plans to build the He 100, I don't think this would have been as implausible as it might seem on the surface.

Thanks! Here's another one that I did, a captured one this time.
It's based on a report that I've read of a captured A6M2-N Rufe that was evaluated by the USN at NAS Anacostia. I've not seen any pictures of it and don't even know if any exist. It was apparently assigned the TAICS number of 3, 4, or 5, and is reported to have to have influenced the development of the Wildcatfish. Since I had no details about what such a captured Rufe may have looked like, I took my inspiration from the famous TAICS 1, A6M2 Zero that was captured in Alaska and flown against various US aircraft types and the Wildcatfish which was painted in a very similar scheme.
By the way, I didn't know if the subject would be appreciated here at Simmers, but I also recently completed a profile of the "Sea Duck" from the Disney cartoon Talespin, if anyone's interested.
