Thanks! I thought it turned out pretty well, even though the white was giving me some trouble early on.

Just finished another He 100, a rather colorful one, in fact.

Indeed, Jesters. The fixed radiator from the Hien was a modification we introduced when we started down the Japanese line almost a year ago.

The aircraft definitely does look a lot like a Hien now, and that's not entirely coincidental. The Hien took inspiration from the He 100 when it was designed and to make things fair, we took its radiator. Unsurprisingly, it fit quite well.
It's really not all that far-fetched, either. The IJN actually did intend to license build the He 100. Have you ever bought something made by Hitachi? The IJN awarded them the contract to build the He 100 and they even built a factory specifically for the project. Nothing came of the plans in the end, though. That changes in this scenario. It would likely impact the Ki-61, as well.

I know the He 100s are relatively popular and I thought this scheme was particularly attractive and suited the aircraft well. Notice the new wing tanks and camera fairing under the fuselage, as well as the Trop umbrella mounting points and radiator fairing.

Anyone interested in another recon Heinkel He 100 and another Japanese floatplane variant?

Nice smoke staining!
