Not yet. All I know is that he intend to repaint it as Hartmann's aircraft (in winter scheme), and that it is a G-10 with Erla hood, tall tail (which one?) and tall tailwheel.Hey Guys do you have a Werk Nummer for this G-10 restoration?
Hi Gamary!
Nice work! For me the full profile looks a little bit too flat, but this is my opinion.
I still think the leather cover at the tail wheel looks strange.
Check the position of the Warning stencils at the oil cooler intake. See here: http://www.asisbiz.com/il2/Bf-109G/B...ly-1944-01.jpg
Also have a look at the shadow of the air intake with the sand filter. Maybe you want to rework yours?
Also check the white spiral of the spinner! The white spiral should be wider. So one black section is too much.
Also I don't understand why your camo branches at the bulge of the MG cover.
Cheers, Simon
Here's a second profile: Franz Schiess' G-4 from JG 53, based in Tunis in 1943.
@Simon: thanks for your comments. It's a bit late to do anything this evening but I'll look into it ASAP and correct/answer when I do.
Nice profile.... but being a nit-picker I think the overpaint on the fuselage was a differentt colour to the RLM 79 Sand, probably RLM 02. Here is a photo.
Don't rule out 79 and an Italian sand color as well, all together possible since 79 is so dark. If it were a E I would say 02 for sure.as a differentt colour to the RLM 79 Sand
REALLY NICE STUFF by the way! I kind of agree with Baron on the flat quality, although I'd call it density or contrast. Maybe try bumping up the shape highlights and shadows? The surface detail is pretty damn near perfect for contrast IMHO!![]()
FAST AND BULBOUS!
@ChrisS1958:
You're not just nit-picking, you're being very helpful! Thanks for your comments and the picture, which I hadn't seen yet. It's interesting to note that on the other pictures, that 3rd colour doesn't show up like it does here.
I'm so busy these days that I haven't had the time to correct the profile but I will do so ASAP and post back here.
