    Re: Whump whump whump

    Hi Guys.
I've added a few more details. I feel like I am eating an elephant. I have now identified no fewer than 6 variations of side doors on these birds. Doors and side windows are now attached, as are a bunch of the aerials. Still to go is the interior, cabin windows, jetpipe, weathering and glossing and revise the overall shape shading and then I think I'll call it quits on this one.

Just keep chewing, chewing, chewing ...

... and here we are pretty much finished. I never seem to able to call anything completely finished. I just know I've missed something, somewhere!

I think I'll do a nice matt RAAF one next.

    Re: Whump whump whump

Yellows and oranges are a pain to shade. One tip I found (by Caruana I think) was to shade most colours towards black but orange/yellow towards red (reddish grey, or greyish red, or something).

I make a selection where the yellow is, and turn up the red level in the RGB thingie 1/4 of the way up. (What I just wrote is probably hopelessly unclear, but I hope not . if that is the case, just shout and I'll detail)

Your Huey is very good though, but the shading does look a bit dirty.

    Thanks, Gamary.
I have been toying with the idea. I might see what I can do with adjustment layers so I am not upsetting the shading for other schemes.

Well Grubby, can't wait to test this birdy, although I prefer camo to a high vis scheme.....

    Re: Whump whump whump

    Hi Guys,

I've woken up the Huey master file for another round of choppers. I want to get some RAAF ones done this time too.

This particular one is used locally for lifting and firefighting work.

It's not finished yet. I still have to add the snorkel end and take another look at the glasswork.

    Grubby.
