Man, that really is good. Please do everybody a favour and don't participate in the 2008 profile contest.

    WOW
    It's BEAUTIFUL
One thing though, and this is more of a "file away, but keep in mind" type of thing. You might want to relax some of your surface "excitement" a bit. It's not too much now, but you wouldn't want to get so far from a smooth metal look that the surface isn't recognizable as such. Too busy is as bad as too plain.
But again, not a correction suggestion, just keep your eyes open, and be on guard against going too far
I gotta say it one more time, WOW

    FAST AND BULBOUS!

    GFR:

Man, that is breathtaking. Absolutely inspiring. Your use of shading and texture has given it so much life. I personally wouldn't worry too much about adding too much texture, I think you have it just right, nice and beaten up.
    Well done and thank you!

I also think your texturing is great, but I agree with BH: don't go any further. It's fine as it is and any more would be overkill.

    Re: Typhoon WIP

Thanks for the vote of confidence guys, its great.
As for the texturing you are right, the last thing that I applied to the Typhoon before I posted it was the texture at the very top of the cowl(I guess this is what you guys are referring to) and I was a little iffy myself as to whether it was a little much. I have scaled back the opacity and it looks much better now. The front is mostly finished now and I am working my way aft (which sounds very wrong) or at least until I go on one of my many creative diversions.

    GFR,

Sir, YOU are the man ! Can you share your secret on how you managed the superb "weathered" look ? I tried deciphering your superlative mastery, but gave up !

    Yours in awe,

Very nice. Typhoons/Tempests have been one of my favorites ever since I got a Typhoon model when I was a kid.
