    Bf 109 G-10 profile project

    Hi folks,

here my newest profile project. I never wanted to do a Bf 109, but I was asked to do 2 profiles for a forthcoming publication, so I stopped my "private" projects to finish the 109's. Base is the great drawing I got from Otterkins.

Here the result of the first day of work: (about 4 hours)

Looks like a good start. Nice to see that Otter's drawing will find their way into publication. They're worth it.

Nice start though the highlight on the spinner looks a bit odd to me It runs down below the centerline of the spinner which it wouldn't do if lit from above.

Re: Bf 109 G-10 profile project

You can't imagine how it feels to see your linework turn into something so real. It is a great honour to work with Simon. As a side note, the G-1 thru 6 early drawings have all been given the stamp of approval from the folks in Chino, Calif. The 10 depicted in Simon's art is all but a done deal. (Sorry Simon, I drew the pitot tube about a third longer than it should be.) Just niggling little details to work on now. As the G-10 was built on a new airframe, this one has been a bit vexatious. Also working on the G-14 which was kind of a stop-gap A/C between the 6 and 10 while they were waiting for new engines and stuff. Mostly a dressed up G-6.

Keep us posted Sime....can't wait for the next development!!!

Very nice! Both the drawing and the profile! One thing though, on a G-10 I believe that the oil-filler hatch behind the spinner should be placed furhter up. It's something to do with the sice of the oiltank or something like that but I'm not very good at the technical details... The placement of this hatch is the main distinguishingmark between a G-14/AS and a G-10.

It's kind of visible in this walkaround: Messerschmitt Bf 109G-10 in Detail - Fuselage

    Hi folks,

    here the next update:

@Otter, it's also a pleasure for me that I can use your great drawings.
@Anders, thank you for the tipp. You are right. I have checked my resources and it the oil-fill hatch is indeed a little bit placed further up. Will change that before the next update!

    Cheers, Simon

PS: @Anders, a long time ago that I have seen some new artwork from you! Any new ones? I really like your 109 that are published on "Falcons 109 Hangar".
