    Actually wh1skea, he didn't. John wrapped his head around a post trying to find mistakes. He couldn't find any because I am very VERY thorough in my research. I think he's about ready to hit me over the head with a shovel and bury me.

    @ Simon: are you sure about that fresh air intake? I thought that wasn't introduced until the K.

    Cool to see the relative poor panel fit on these older planes, on modern planes that would be a factory reject due to radar cross section concerns.

    The sloppy fit is due to the fact that the lower cowl fasteners are not engaged. This would tighten up the fit, but later 109's and 190's were not very well built due to factory conditions in late '44-early '45. Even by the standards of most aircraft at the time they were quite sloppy.

    I doubt it's easy to put an aircraft together with bombs falling all around you, though.
