    Re: Junkers Ju 88 A and D

    Thank you John!

I also have found this pic:

If I'm right the shape of the S-Nose is the same as the solid nose of the C

    to compare:

    Thank you Gaetan!

Had not too much joy the last months to do profiles, but now I think I found the right subject. The Ju88 is really interesting. Will publish some WIP shots here, but the final profiles you will maybe see in books!

I've always wondered about this and I think this is correct. Simple aerodynamics... they came to this shape as the optimum for streamline on the Ju 88 Z back in 1939, so why would they change their mind a few years later?

    Re: Junkers Ju 88 A and D

Here's my interpretation of the Ju 88 C nose, based on lenghty examination and careful matching of various photo angles in 3D:

Still... not 100% sure... the S/T does look like it might have the apex of the curve a bit higher. I will have to check my 3D model against S/T photos someday when I have a little more time.

    Here's a good shot: http://media.photobucket.com/image/j...8/JU-88s-3.jpg

The 5-minute editing time is way too short...

    Here's a Ju 88 C-6 nose from a similar angle to the S-3 above:
    Ju 88 C: http://www.asisbiz.com/il2/Ju-88/Ju-...-750811-01.jpg

Overlaying the two photos in PS shows they have near-identical curvature (slight perspective mismatch) with the apex at the same spot. So I guess we can safely say it's the same shape.
How about the Ju 88 G...?

    John, I thought so!
