    Re: Albatros D series

I love the weathered look on that last one.

BTW, some interesting reads on the D.Va:

    Re: Albatros D series

    That's a GREAT site Gamary!
A lot of my research came from Vintage Aviator photos. Only their planes turns out to be not so typical. One might believe that all D.Vas have the upper cowling retaining strap and two nose-to-wing wires per side. It turns out most D.Vas didn't have these features but you need to look at hundreds of war time photos to find this out...or talk to Jim Miller

    Almost forgot- a photo-

You can see I still need some more work.
    THANKS JIM!

That last dot is a reflection, or so says Stephen Lawson, and he's a pretty knowledgeable guy. It's not on the photo of the plane from the front. I hadn't seen that photo before!

More curve as pointed out by GFR, thanks GFR!

No probs, glad I could make a (very) minor contribution to making an already great profile that much greater.

I'm just glad your not currently doing USAAF types.

    Re: Albatros D series

Sorry to be so peaky, but I think that the upper camo colors on the von Schleich plane should be inverted.
From the photographic evidence it seems that the lighter color (mauve) is at the extremes of the upper wing and the darker (dark green) on the center and vice versa on the lower wing, (according to Jim Miller's very efficiently documented interpretation).
