There is a tute in the tutorials section on using the pen tool. Why not start out with line drawings like I did and gradually work into colour? I have pretty severe arthritis and Familial Tremours as well, so Illustrator has been a godsend for me.
Cheers gamary. Yes..opening and closign a 100meg+ file would take sometime...even with a decent pc. I've always loved drawing....Did many ..manyly of ships when younger...but also did P-51's B-24's, B-17. Lancaster....etc. But with my arthritis...holding a pencil or pen is rather painful. Now..doign it on a PC loves like a viable option...but I really don't have the pc graphical skills to know where to start..
I have asked before...but I still look at a blank scene..and give up..lol..oh well....

Sorry to hear that. I haven't had much time to visit it recently, but I know it was full of good stuff. Thanks a lot for the info on the lights.Unfortunately, that site had a crash and rebirth a couple months ago and all the old threads were lost.
You should try anyway, IMHO. The first time I opened Photoshop, I couldn't even draw a curve. That was about 6 years ago. It took me several hours to figure out just how to draw a simple curve (i.e. create a path, and stroke it with a brush). But with my arthritis...holding a pencil or pen is rather painful. Now..doign it on a PC loves like a viable option...but I really don't have the pc graphical skills to know where to start..
The learning curve is rather difficult at first, so you need to hang on. Keep in mind that there are literally millions of tutorials on the net. I regularly use these to improve my technique.
Well, the Cascavel is taller than most airplanes. What version of PS are you using? Keep in mind I'm working with 7.0 (2002).I'm doing something really wrong... my cascavel armored car is 39cm x 21cm in 300dpi and I can't make it smaller than 200mb!!!!!!
And I'm allways merging layers (in a very danger way) to keep it from growing too much...
You guys are using 8, 16 or 32 bits collor channel?
As for coloured channels, the only one I know of is located between myself and England, and is just varying shades of grey.More seriously: I don't even know if I have an option cc. this in PS 7.
Firtst of..sorry about my somewhat odd typin...as i say...my fingers dont always typy what im thinking...so somethimes i miss letters or put words in that shouldnt be there...but it should be at least undertandable...whichis what matters.
Anyway...i have PaintShop 7..and really old version 4 of PS. I had heard Illustrater is good....I thin a friend of mine usees ver 10...an he loves it..not sure what he uses it for..but still.
I just find it hard to get going at anything..once i am going...I'll be fine..cuase i tend to want to finish what i start....but its just getting going.....
Well thanks for the backing guys...much appreciated....I just need to mentally get myself going and see what happens!![]()

Cripes, I work pretty much exclusively in Illustrator CS3 but the pen tool in PS works pretty much the same. Once you get started it's rather addictive. Once a closed path is created you can do all kinds of interesting things with it. If you need help getting started, email me. I have enough detailed tutorials saved to sink a battleship.
PEN TOOL FOREVER!!!!![]()

Here's a new one: XV*F/AG636 of No 2 Squadron, in mid-1942. One of her sister ships, AG633/XV*E is one of the most photographed early Mustangs (everyone here has seen several pictures of it at least) so I decided I'd do the lesser sister.
