It looks like not having done a P-51 profile is some sort of "profiler's virginity". You've got to do one because you can claim to be fully grown up.

I did one when I just got started buuuuut it doesn't look as good as it would if I did now. I'd like to think the F-86 is the jet-mustang I'll do one of those soon

Grubby, Look at the anticipation you have built up just by announcing to the world (or this board at least)what you next profile will be. I reckon the board will go into meltdown once a WIP is posted. My good man you have my admiration.

    Re: Aussie Mustangs

We did actually manufacture some, Fritzie. It was only 200 airframes. We were the only country outside the US to have Mustang production. They were essentially P=51Ds and Ks with very minor detail differences, nothing external as far as I habve been able to tell.

What I actually meant was the markings not the airframe. I actually remembered that Australia built mustangs. I thought this thread was about Mustangs flown by Australia not built by them. My mistake. Which country did this CA-17 belong to?

Yes. And it a US-built P-51, not some airframe with kangaroo hair stuck on it. lol
