Re: Aussie Mustangs
I envy the detail. The images I'm finding on the web as my reference just arent cutting it.

Re: Aussie Mustangs
I got that website problem sorted. Mustang pics are at:
North American P-51 Mustang Walkaround Photos
I hope this helps.

Re: Aussie Mustangs
I wouldn't use these pics as reference for an A-36 since these are of a P-51D. Very nearly the entire plane differs in some detail or another. (scoop shape, radiator exhaust duct, wing leading edges, bomb racks, etc.) Since you mentioned them, the bomb racks on the A-36 are closer to those used on the P-51B/C if not identical.

Not the best picture, but look at how the arms attach to the rack at the top instead of the bottom.
Thanks for posting the -51D pics, Grubby!

Re: Aussie Mustangs
Hi Guys.
Mustang linework is almost complete. I am struggling with the gunsights, however. I have cobbled up what you see from a couple of photos. Do any of you Mustang officianados have any decent reference for a Mk IId or a Mk IIL gunsight?
I have found a great pic that has three different rocket types and a 500 lb bomb all loaded up at once! I must draw it!

Re: Aussie Mustangs
That looks very good! I'd never noticed the emergency release handle under the windshield of the CAC Mustangs. ALso, I see there are quite a few minor differences. Thanks for teaching us!
As for the Mk II gunsight, I'm afraid I have nothing about it. Have you tried the MustangsMustangs forum or the P-51 Special Interest Group. They could probably answer you.
