You're being as prudent as I am.I wouldn't consider it confirmed though. Thanks for your input.
I wasn't able to find much information on the Spits flown by 313 and I believe some squadrons simultaneously operated clipped- and standard-wing Spits so not much luck on that side/
Any other opinions?

Thanks for the kind words, Dalibor!![]()
Gammy marches to the beat of his own drum and like most of us doesn't trust line drawings. He thoroughly researches what he does through photos as all of us who are serious about what we do. Brilliant work Gammy, but it looks like John has come out of his hole once again just to insult and vex you. I do believe it reads on his job application that he is a "professional dickhead", so please take away from this what you will. I think I need to find a bomb shelter now.
Hey, 313 Sqn is Czechoslovak!!what do you want to know
Try to contact this man, he is one of the best on Czech to know about pilot of Czechoslovak origin in RAF.

@Otterkins (when come out of your nuclear shelter): John can be a pain in the rear end, but I must say he's helped me improve my profiles countless times by generously sharing his material and time.
@Peter: thanks for the link. I knew the site but as it is made with frames, I never had seen the side/navigation bar previously.
To all would-be webdesigners/webmasters: frames are a thing of the past. They can screw up your search engine visibility and should no longer be used.![]()
I jest Gammy. John is an awesome guy with a ton of info that will help you until he he goes blind. He's a crusty bastard though and I'll give him back the same old fogey shit he gives me. I hope he is well. What do you mean "bomb shelter"? I've been posting here regularly. Oh nevermind. I know what you mean. John will rain bombs on my head if he ever comes out of his hole.

Currently working on the Spitfire Mk XIV. I've finished the major shapes and it only needs colours and weathering now (aka the fun part).
As usual, all scale plans I've found for the Mk XIV are complete crap. Luckily, there are a few remaining Mk XIV to be seen, so I was able to use them for reference.
The next step will be doing the Mk XIV with teardrop canopy and clipped wings.
BTW: here's a $100,000 question. Does anyone know what serials were standard Mk XIV and which were of the clipped wings & teardrop kind?
My initial guess was that early Mk XIV were "standard" and late ones weren't, but it seems that it something like even-numbered serials are standard and odd-numbered ones aren't.
Any insight on this would be very welcome.
Oh! And another question! These late Spitfires had a rudder trim tab which was divided in two parts such as can be seen here (the closest one is a Mk XIV, the other ones are earlier Spits with normal trim tabs):
Can anyone explain what that was for? I've been trying to figure it out on my own with no success.
That's going to be REALLY pretty!!!![]()
FAST AND BULBOUS!
Update. Never mind the codes, which are remnants from the Mk IX template from which this evolved:
