Now working on the Mk V with Volkes filter:

I'm pretty certain of the shape of the filter, as it matches the pictures I have of such ugly ducklings. However, something still bothering me and I can't put my finger on it. I'll sleep on it and see if I can figure what's wrong.

Mark Styling draws a much deeper filter, but as far as I can tell he's overdone it.

Hey I like the look of the Volkes equipped V. Maybe being Australian I am genetically predisposed to that way of thinking.

You mean Aussies are born with Volkes filters in their nostrils?

I take it nobody's shocked with the drawing and saying "wtf?". Good news for me I guess...

One of the Mk Ia used by Eric Lock during the Battle of Britain.

It's sad he was never as recognized as Bader, Stanford-Tuck or other "stars". He was at least their equal IMHO.

Wonderful plane, great work on its profile... when you start the IXb will be good to see a Pierre Closterman plane on yours stile...

I sure will. My website is dedicated to Clostermann. I love his book "Le Grand Cirque" (The Big Show). I must have read it 8 times at least. I don't know how good it is in translated versions but it is a superb book in the original French language.

I want to draw more FAFL Spitfires but most were Mk IXs. Converting the V to the I/II was quite easy. Converting the V to the IX will require a little mork work, but nothing impossible.
