After prodding from the experts, including Elephant's sharp little eyes, I think I've got 2004/17 correct-
It's a can-O-worms I tell ya!
They are glossyonly concerns I have is the upper wing, looks a bit glossyBut not too much I hope. I was trying to show the receding of the wing as it goes from thin at the tip to it's thickest through the straight section of the wing. That might be as good as it gets but I'll mull that over some.
I have no opinion either way, I did it how Jim said it wasI believe that the dark color in b/w photo is the mauve and the green is the lighter one...
If so, the camo combo was right on the previous WiP shot...I do know the light and dark doesn't always mean much since that light and dark can flip depending on the film, or sometimes just with lighting.
Now I have more corrections from Charles Gosse![]()

Well, I don't know if it is correct, but it sure looks good!![]()
Beautiful. And, a technical marvel. what else is there to say. Congratulations. Saaaaaaaaaaay, BH, out of curiosity, how many hours d'ya reckon you spent on this babe total?
MC
Ooooh, I have no idea. I started it in February. I doubt I ever spend more that 10 hours on average per week. But I know I took more than a few weeks off. I probably have 20-30 hours just converting the D.Va to the D.V!
More hours than I could ever get paid for I'm afraid![]()

BH,
Thanks. I think we all experience a similiar challange - the last 10% of the artwork takes 90% of the effort, like restoring a real aircraft. I have a couple of projects which now need alteration and I've decided its easier to start from scratch than modify them. The other issue is as we improve we become more critical of our earlier works. Its a never-ending battle with no clear-cut victories. However, in the case of this Albatross you have approached perfection. Technology has givenus the tools to do what could not be done in graphics even 15 years ago,
MC
Two new ones, D.V 1042/17-
I have no clue as to the marking or color on this one. I'm not sure if anything is known about it It might be Jasta 4 and the color could be yellow since it looks dark and you can see the serial clearly through the paint. Others have guessed yellow. I'm still waiting for the word from the "experts" on this one.
And one of several Jasta 5 "Blitz" planes-
I'm not sure about some of the details but I'm pretty sure I have the markings correct. This one is noted as possibly being 7037/17. I didn't add the patch (or whatever) on the tail because I have no idea what it is, metal? Unpainted fabric?

Man, I love the second one. I recognize the scheme but can't remember whose it was. Will you sell prints of it? You should.![]()
The "Blitz" is from Jasta 5 and is one of 3 or 4 with these markings flown by Hans Joachim von Hippel.
Prints? Maybe if I keep this up I'll have a good selection?![]()
